The second Satch show I attended in 1998! Another memorable show enjoyed with some great Satch fans. Check the Tours section for many pictures!
Last Satriani collectable from the 3/24/98 NYC show. Thanks again to all!!! Hope to get more on 5/2 in the NJ show!
More Satriani collectables from the 3/24/98 NYC show. Aftershow pass and a setlist signed by the band!
A night to remember... a terrific Satch show attended with friends! Thanks again to Satch and the band for a terrific performance and unnecessary hospitality. Very special thanks to JR!!!

More reasons to join GLK. Here are two recent picks that were given away to GKS subscribers with the newsletter.
Courtesy of Luis Salazar...Whitesnake ticket from the concert in Barcelona in 1990. Of couse Steve was in the band for this tour with his Universe guitars. Next day Whitesnake played in England at the festival MONSTERS OF ROCK in Donington. Thanks Luis.
This is a G3 V.I.P. pass. Similar in looks to the Aftershow passes except for the lettering VIP. These go to friends and family.
Here is a cool entry. Pictured above is the G3 pick of Joe Satriani. If anyone has any extras feel free to email!!!
Courtesy of Geofrey Sebastian, here is a ticket stub from the G3 show that was broadcast on the Internet!!! A memorable G3 performance seen and heard worldwide. If anyone has the Real Audio capture of this performance please e-mail.
Here is a special entry... a good luck charm from the G3 aftershow in Atlanta. While discussing the upcoming "Ibanez Generation" (JEM/UV players CD) with Eric Sands, Vai signed it "To the board good luck with the CD". Thanks Steve.
Spain calling. Here a few of Luis Salazar's ticket stub from an overseas. On the left is the DLR Skyscraper show. On the right is the "Legends of Guitar" in Sevilla. Why don't ticket stubs from the USA look this cool ever? Hmmm Ticketmaster and monopoly come to mind!
Our overseas visitors are submitting items like crazy. Luis Salazar writes in from Spain - "Shown above is the Skyscraper pic from David Lee Roth show in San Sebastian (11/88). With this pick Vai played 'Jump' closing the gig and he gave me in hand. I felt the most lucky man in pavilion. It's one of my treasures."

Arnaud Salembier, whom I met at the G3 aftershow in NJ, submits from France his impressive Vai guitar pick collection. Check out the JPG to see various picks Vai has used. He's always looking to trade for more!
If you're not a member of GKS here is another reason to join. The 9/97 newsletter arrived with this baby inclosed. These are promotional picks created by Morley.
Here is a pick (front/back) from the Deep Purple w/ Joe Satriani European tour. It was so generously given to me by a longtime Satch fan, enthusiast & friend. To say I'm honored to possess this is an understatement. Deep Purple (Mark II) is one of my favorite bands ever and to have this pick with one of the best musicians name on it is mind-boggling. If anyone knows of a quality CDs from these DP/Satch shows please e-mail. Thanks again JR!
If G3 '97 wasn't incredible enough, it was made even more special thanks to the Vai crew. On the left is the aftershow pass that made it happen. The G3 CD booklet has been signed by Steve, Mike & Phillip over their respective pictures. A special thanks to everyone who provided me with such a honor.
I'm one of the lucky ones to see an early G3 tour before it resumes again at summer's end. A full report is on the "G3 Tour Info" page, along with several other reviews.
Here is a ticket stub graciously submitted to the site by Simon H. Garlick. It is for a Steve Vai concert in Auckland, New Zealand on Feb 16, 1997. As you can see (if you turn ON the graphics of your browser) it is signed by Steve too... cool! Thanks Simon.
1996 Fire Garden Tour. Finally I get to see a Vai solo tour. This was the first time he ever did a solo tour that reached the area where I was located. This set expanded further than the G3 set, and featured a looser performance, showing more of his Zappa roots. I'm lucky to have seen both this and G3.
Here is a pic from the G3 show we were at. My friend got it as Vai basically handed it to him and at that point he was a Vai convert. He bought a 7VWH soon after! Grab them if you can at the G3 '97 shows!
1996 G3 Tour. NYC, first row center... with Vai and Co. standing over us. My friend got a pick (see below) and got to play Vai's whammy bar! For those thinking of skipping this summers G3 Tour, I advise against it. The G3 show was around 4 hours of guitar heaven.
1987 Eat 'Em & Smile Tour w/ DLR's stellar lineup of Vai & Sheehan trading licks. At this time Vai started to play the just introduced Ibanez JEM guitars, along with the Flame Guitar and some custom guitars built for him before his Ibanez contract was signed.
1987. The end of the Eat 'Em & Smile Tour. Who could refuse going to see this powerhouse lineup twice. I was just as impressed this time as I was for the first show... stunning. For this concert, Vai primarily used the JEM77FP that was his guitar of choice for a few years. A '97 Model Floral Pattern is still available from Ibanez today.
